Principal's Message
Greetings Boyd County community and guests!
What a pleasure it is to serve as the Principal at Boyd County High School. I get the opportunity to watch students grow and mature academically as well as socially over the course of what seems like an eternity to them but in reality, is just a blink of an eye. Throughout their time here we hope they truly develop a servant’s heart for service to others and discover a pride in their school that will last a lifetime.
During this school year, our students will be meeting new people, developing lifelong friendships, completing school requirements, taking state-mandated tests, filling out applications for scholarships, applying to secondary education institutions, and seeking employment all while learning to deal with and overcome the stress and anxiety caused by the recent pandemic. This is a very challenging and stressful time for all involved. The reality of increased expectations, as well as the fear of the unknown, can cause heightened anxiety in the lives of our children (and parents). I urge you, as parents, guardians, and friends to focus on the positive, encourage our students with praise, and be available when they need to talk.
I thank you for your continued support of Boyd County High School and all that it entails. We are striving every day to make a difference, not only in the lives of our students, but in our community as well.
If I can ever be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact me here at school.
God Bless,
Thomas Holbrook, Principal
Boyd County High School
